Scott was injured in a diving accident on August 15, 1992 leaving him with a C3-C4 spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia. Scott was taken to a local hospital in Monroe, Louisiana to stabilize him. He was then placed on a ventilator and a feeding tube. Scott had several life threatening medical complications and almost died. After overcoming all of the medical complications, Scott was flown to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia where he started an extensive rehabilitation program.
Scott returned home after six months of rehabilitation and began looking for Assistive Technology (AT) that would allow him to be more independent. Scott started to realize that AT was expensive and that he had to find alternative solutions. That is the purpose of this website. To provide resources and ideas that can help improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. I hope it is helpful. Please feel free to email Scott other resources.
